How do I download an image after payment?

After you have completed your payment on Paypal, you will be redirect back to our website to a page with a link to download your images. You will also receive an email, containing the download link, sent to the same email address as your PayPal account.

If you pay by e-check, you payment will take 3-4 days to clear. Once the payment has cleared, an email with the download link will be sent to you.

How do I search for an image?

Enter any word or words into the keyword field separated by a space (eg. business office dynamic), and our search engine will present the images that best match your keyword(s). We also encourage you to try concepts and adjectives in your key word searching. Each Brownstock photo has very specific keywords and phrases associated with it, like collection, subject, style, concepts, place, time of day, mood or feel, as well as many other descriptions.

What is a Royalty-Free license?

Essentially, "royalty-free" means you can use the image for any type of project you like for one end use client with very few restrictions. You cannot resell or give away the image or the rights to the image. When purchasing a license from Brownstock, you are buying the non-exclusive rights on behalf of your client or end user, to publish the image. Please refer to our End User Content Agreement for more detailed information.

What if I'm purchasing the Royalty-License for my client?

If you are a design studio or advertising company, we'll need your client's name that you are buying the license for. It's important to state that you cannot use that image for another client without first purchasing a second license. Please refer to our Terms and Conditions for further explanation.

What can I use the imagery for?

You can publish our imagery for any use including brochures, ads, billboards, CD covers, internet, intranet, extranet, books or magazines, annual reports, news letters, television or video projects, etc. The only thing you cannot do with our imagery, without a further resale license, is resell the image directly or create objects based on the image, this includes postcards, greeting cards, calendars, posters, framed prints and T-shirts. And you may not use the Image(s) in a pornographic, defamatory, fraudulent, sexually sensitive, obscene or otherwise illegal manner.

What if I want a rights-managed image or the exclusive rights to an image?

We don't offer any rights-managed images, as a general rule. However, if you need the exclusive usage rights to an image on our site, please contact us at service@brownstock.com we'll then check on the previous sales status of the image and we'll do our best to accommodate your request.

What if I can't find the image I'm looking for?

If you can't find an image your looking for, please email us at service@brownstock.com and we'll do our best to lend a hand.

Can I commission Brownstock to shoot custom photography assignments?

Yes definitely! Please drop us an email at service@brownstock.com and we will have someone contact you in one business day to review your project.

How secure is your site for online transactions?

At this time we have decided to use Pay Pal(TM) for our online transactions because of their outstanding reputation as a recognized, secure transaction provider. It's easy and it's very secure!

What is a JPEG?

JPEG is a standardized image compression process. (Joint Photographic Experts Group) A JPEG is designed to compress full color or gray scale photographs to aid in the ease of downloading from the internet, without compromising image quality. After downloading the compressed file, the photograph will be able to be opened at its full resolution.

Ordering prints from Brownstock?

Our main focus is to sell royalty-free licenses of our imagery, but we're also dedicated to offering a diverse collection of 'Art Decor' quality images that we believe would be a compliment to any office space, restaurant, or a new hotel. How do I submit images to Brownstock as a contributor?
